About Us

Good Shepherd Pre-School was established in 1977 as a non-profit, non-sectarian pre-school, which services the surrounding communities.  It is certified and licensed by the State of New Jersey.

            Philosophy:   

The purpose of Good Shepherd Pre-School is to provide the children with the opportunity to develop their social, emotional, intellectual and physical abilities in a loving and caring nursery school environment.

            Values and Goals:    

• To develop a positive self image in each child.
• To provide a loving atmosphere in which children have respect for themselves.
• To provide opportunities for children to make friends and learn to get along with other children and adults.
• To meet each child’s physical needs while encouraging independence in self care.
• To develop self-discipline by providing an environment where the child knows the limits and expectations.
• To develop an enthusiasm for learning which stimulates creativity and curiosity.
• To encourage each child to ask questions, explore and experience the joy of new discoveries.
• To provide a curriculum which covers: language arts, math, science, music and movement, community awareness, large muscle development, manipulative activities, practical life and dramatic play.
• To provide opportunities for use of large motor skills and coordination through physical activities either indoors or outdoor.
• To be supportive of parents encouraging open and honest communication and involvement.
